FT232RL is a USB/TTL converter module of FTDI company, designed to change USB standard signals from 5V to 3.3V.

Features:

  • A great module to connect a computer to a microcontroller. USB-UART converter (RS232 TTL) based on the FTDI FT232RL system.
  • The module has CTS, RX, TX, DTR pins and VCC and GND power supply.
  • Thanks to the built-in stabilizer, we can choose the power supply voltage of the programmed system (5V or 3.3V) using a jumper.
  • NOTES:
  • - Drivers can be downloaded from the sites described below
  • - Proper connection to the motherboard is very important - any other connection can damage the board's electronics or the FTDI.
  • - By default, the voltage is set to 5V - you can change it by changing the contact jumper to 3.3V

Specifications:

  • Used FTDI FT232RL chip
  • LED power, TX, RX
  • gold pin connector
  • miniUSB socket
  • Pins for all FT232RL system signals, power supply 3.3 V (50 mA)
  • voltage level selection using a jumper
  • UART RS232 interface
  • works with Windows XP/7/8, Linux
