High computing performance, a rich set of communication interfaces, and the GPIO connection, which has quickly become a market standard, with pin gaps - all this makes the "raspberry" a favorite among robotics developers and enthusiasts, as well as professional electronic system designers and designers. . One of the most interesting models at the moment is the miniature Raspberry Pi Zero W 512MB RAM module. It offers most of the board features of the main Raspberry Pi product line (models 3B, 3B+ or 4B), but - thanks to the removal of some USB ports and the Ethernet connection - takes up several times less space than the classic RPi. mini computers.

Raspberry Pi Zero – rich connectivity options in a miniature form
One of the most important advantages of Raspberry Pi Zero W is the integrated radio module that supports WiFi (802.11 b/g/n standards and speed up to 150 Mbps) and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 4.1 connection. The Raspberry Pi Zero W module has 512 MB of built-in RAM, and a microSD card is used to store user data and operating system files, with a slot located on the top side of the printed circuit board. The board also has two microUSB connectors (OTG and power supply), a miniHDMI port, a camera connector (CSI) and of course a 40-pin GPIO connector with a pitch of 2.54 mm (more precisely, with a corresponding area that allows you to solder the corresponding connector yourself, e.g. ., straight or angled gold plug). The Raspberry Pi Zero W mini computer runs on a Broadcom SoC (System-on-Chip). This model uses a single-core BCM2835 processor based on the ARM11 architecture and also well-known from the A, B, B+ and Compute Module models. The maximum clock frequency is 1 GHz, which, together with the fast RAM with a capacity of 512 MB, allows you to run the latest operating systems with graphical shells, such as Raspberry Pi OS (formerly Raspbian) or Ubuntu Mate, as well as application-oriented distribution professionals, including Ubuntu Core or Ubuntu Server. The previously mentioned GPIO connector makes it easy to integrate the Rapsberry Pi Zero W minicomputer with external electronics, in addition to the classic, "simple" I/O lines, providing a number of digital interfaces, including I2C, SPI and UART. A noteworthy alternative to building hardware from scratch is the use of off-the-shelf functional overlays, collectively known as Raspberry Pi Hats.
