RangePi is a module in the form of a USB adapter/dongle that allows long-range LoRa communication with low energy consumption. The USB stick is based on the RP2040 microcontroller with the LoRa Semtech SX1262 chip operating at 868 MHz. The range of the LoRa connection in the RangePi is up to 5 kilometers. The board also has a small LCD display with a diagonal of 1.14". RangePi is compatible with Linux systems and boards such as Raspberry Pi and BeagleBone. The module has a USB connector, thanks to which the GPIO pins are unused and can be used freely. To test networks, no need to carry around the development board, cables, adapters and other components. LoRa is used in a variety of industries including vineyards for weather monitoring, trains to detect frozen railway turnouts, and pest control in combined mice.
