The OPTO-01 system was designed to enable cooperation of the SSK-B01 controllers produced by our company. SSK-B02 and SSK-B05 with controllers operating with control voltages other than 5V (various types of PLC controllers or motherboards operating with voltages e.g. 24VDC). The OPTO-01 system can be used not only in cooperation with B01 controllers. B02. or B05. but in many other situations. where there is a need for galvanic separation of control signals. The system has 3 independent separating tracks. At the input of the individual channel system, the anode and cathode of the optocoupler diode are provided. A resistor is connected in series with the positive terminal to limit the diode current. The system outputs (transistor collectors) are connected to the supply voltage using resistors (terminal 5V - see the system assembly manual).

ARK 1.5 mm² connectors with a maximum voltage of 250V and a forward current of 16A were used to make connections to external devices. Components. from which the OPTO-01 optocoupler is made meet the European Union's RoHS directive (Restriction of use of certain Hazardous Substances) regarding environmental protection. The device is made using lead-free technology. The binder used to assemble the device contains 99% tin and 1% copper.

Operation of the OPTO - 01 optocoupler Connecting the module

The optocoupler system has three independent separation tracks. The diode tips of individual channels are connected to ARK screw connectors. We connect control signals from the controller to the pins of the P1 connector. and to the pins of the P2 connector of the engine controller or other device. whose lines we want to separate. The installation diagram for the most popular applications is provided on the next page.

ATTENTION!!!
If the OPTO-01 system is connected to the SSK-B02 and SSK-B05 controller, the R1 resistors should be removed from the optocoupler board. R2 and R3 (they need to be desoldered or cut).

6. Tips

In case the OPTO-01 module does not work properly. the first step should be to check whether the problem is electrical or mechanical (lack of connections). It is important to. to document every step in solving the problem. You may need to use this documentation at a later date. and the details contained therein will greatly help our Technical Support employees solve the problem.

Installation personnel must have basic knowledge of how to handle electrical equipment. The device should be installed in closed rooms in accordance with environmental class I. with normal air humidity (RH = 90% max. without condensation) and temperature in the range of 0°C to +50°C.
