The Leadshine MX4660 series controller is a high-performance 4-axis stepper motor controller. It is specifically designed to easily and precisely control up to four 2-phase (1.8°) stepper motors in sizes NEMA 17, 23, 24 and NEMA34.
It provides complete control for the CNC machine.
The MX4660 4-axis stepper drive operates at a supply voltage of 20-60 VDC, and the motor supply current is up to 6.0 A (Peak) per axis. Supports popular step and direction signals. Thanks to its compact housing, this controller is easy to implement in new and modernized machines. There are no complicated connections between the controllers and the motherboard - just connect the LPT cable to the computer and stepper motors - and the machine is ready to work!
Using advanced Leadshine stepper motor control technology, the MX4660 4-axis stepper drive can power stepper motors with high precision, high smoothness of movement, with extremely low heating and noise during stepper motor operation. It is equipped with, among other things, an anti-resonance function and a 50% reduction in current when standing still.
The MX4660 4-axis stepper drive has no problems during first startup. Using a 6-pin DIP switch for each of the 4 stepper drive modules, the user can easily set the output current and micro step to one of 8 available settings, respectively: from 1.45A to 6.0A in terms of current and from full step to 1/64 division . Each axis can have its own current and micro step configuration to meet different requirements for the controlled stepper motor.
The MX4660 4-axis stepper drive is an integrated controller with a DB25 connector and built-in terminals for control signals and peripherals. It has a built-in 0-10V analog output for an inverter to regulate the rotational speed of the electrospindle. This enables convenient, easy and quick connection of controllers (e.g. PC-based control systems, motion controllers, PLCs, etc. ...) and external devices (limit switches, VFDs, etc.). This simplifies system connection and configuration, saves installation space and time, minimizes cabling, increases reliability and reduces implementation costs.
The power amplifiers of individual axes of the MX4660 controller are separate 'cards'. If any of the four stepper drive modules malfunctions, the user can easily replace them (SDM660), thus minimizing repair time and costs.
This controller is an ideal control solution for many applications with 2-4-axis stepper systems, such as: machines laying out elements on PCB boards - Pick&place, packaging machines, or laboratory machines. Of course, they can be used for machines such as CNC routers / engravers, light CNC milling machines, lathes, laser cutters / markers / engraving machines, CNC welding machines, water jet cutters, XY positioning tables, all kinds of dispensing and applying machines, etc. - everywhere, where simple and precise control is needed.
The unique design of the MX4660 with DB25 connectors makes it seamlessly fit into many popular CNC control systems such as Mach3 and EMC2.
