Over the years of working with the Mach3 program, we have become familiar with it :).

The Mach 3 program from ArtSoft Newfangled Solutions is the most popular CNC machine control program for both commercial and hobby applications. It controls the operation of stepper motors. or servo drives by sending step and direction signals (Step/Dir). This program works perfectly with all stepper motor and servo drive controllers available in our offer.

Using the Mach3 program, we can transform a PC into a CNC machine controller.

It enables, among others, control of the operation of the following machines:

Thanks to the possibility of simulating a PLC controller. ModBus communication using the Mach3 program. We can transform a PC into a controller for virtually any machine. Our clients have successfully controlled a pipe bender, an automatic welding machine or a powder coating device. Mach3 can control any device that has a maximum of 6 axes + spindle.

The Mach3 program from ArtSoft controls their work based on the so-called G-codes. which we can prepare from vector files, for example using LazyCam or MeshCam.

The program can control any set of controller and stepper motor or servo drive. Any mechanical drive transmission solution (screws, strips, or toothed belts) can also be used - the program can define the operating parameters of each axis separately. In the program window, we can preview the tool path and can constantly control machining parameters, such as feed speed or spindle speed.

The program is available in a demo version. It is fully functional. It was only limited to 500 lines of G-code. After purchasing the license, the program limit is 10,000,000 lines of G-code.

For proper operation of the ArtSoft Mach 3 program, it is recommended to use a stationary PC with the operating system listed below installed (if we use a parallel port for control). Installing the program on a laptop is not recommended. because power saving modes used in mobile devices may have a negative impact on the generation of control signals. Laptops can be used when a motion controller dedicated to cooperation with the Mach3 program is used in the control. Our offer includes, among others: Smoothstepper and CSMIO-IP family controllers (pulses are generated by the controller, independently of the computer).

Requirements for a desktop computer (when using the LPT parallel port):

• 32-bit version of Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 (64-bit versions for the LPT port are not supported)
• Processor minimum 1Ghz-
• Minimum 512MB RAM
• Non-integrated graphics card 32MB RAM

Wizards from the manufacturer ArtSoft Newfangled Solutions are mini programs that expand the capabilities of the Mach3 program. They allow you to quickly and easily prepare G-code for frequently repeated tasks in the Mach3 program. The user can create such a wizard according to his own needs. The Mach 3 program comes with a free set of wizards prepared by Mach3 users.

The list includes wizards that allow you to easily prepare tasks, including:
- space planning-
- surface sampling-
- so-called milling circular pocket. or rectangle-
- text milling -
- and many others.

The above generators are available free of charge and operate without restrictions.

A set of wizards prepared by the manufacturer of the Mach3 software ["Mach3 Addons for Mill"] is available for an additional fee:

The set of these wizards allows you to quickly and easily implement functions such as:

• space planning.
• cutting out pockets of various shapes.
• drilling holes.
• thread cutting.
• milling grooves.
• gear milling
• and many others.

Demo versions of these wizards are included with the Mach3 program. They will allow us to familiarize ourselves with all the functions of individual wizards, including a preview of the tool path; however, they will not allow you to generate a G-code work file. To generate G-codes, a license is required, which is available in our store.

Attention! For the wizards to work properly, the full version of Mach3 [licensed] is also required.

Together with the Mach3 program, ArtSoft provides the free LazyCam program (version limited to 50 lines of g-code). This is a program that allows you to easily and quickly generate G-code based on dxf or hpgl files [and many other types of vector files], which will then be executed by the Mach3 program. The program allows you to define machining parameters. When importing a vector file, in each of its defined layers we can specify: tool diameter, depth of tool entry into the material, processing speed, direction and spindle rotation speed, type of tool used and many others.

A PRO version of LazyCam is also available. which enriches the LazyCam program with additional functions. After purchasing the license, the program will allow us to perform more advanced operations, such as: tool diameter correction or pocket milling. You can purchase a license in our store. By purchasing a license. it does not matter which version of Mach3 is installed and what language version. We can update the program to the latest version for free at any time. The latest, stable version of the software is available on our website. We also provide the Polish version for this version free of charge (it may not work properly with other versions of Mach3).

For hobby applications, one license can be used on any number of machines. In the case of commercial (income-generating) applications, it is required that each machine has a separate license file.

If the Mach3 program was installed only for testing purposes, it is possible to run the program in simulation mode, which will disable the limit on the number of G-code lines. To run the simulation mode, you must uninstall the LPT port drivers (or do not install them when installing Mach3).

The configuration file (.XML extension) should be copied to the main program folder (by default it will be C:/Mach3). The program should be run from Mach3Loader.exe by selecting the appropriate profile.
