The M5StickC Plus2, based on the ESP32-PICO-V3-02 system, is a larger-screen version of the M5StackC. The Plus2 version uses a 1.14-inch color display, just like its smaller-screen counterpart. It is perfect for all projects related to wearable devices, as well as miniature controllers for IoT systems or as a basis for educational projects.
StickC module, expansion and accessory capabilities
The Stick series products are equipped with a 6-axis IMU system that constantly monitors the device's position, among other things, allowing for the call of previously programmed functions when moving or changing the device's position. For communication, the module uses a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth communication module integrated with the main controller. StickC modules also have:
- RTC clock BM8563
- SPM1423 microphone
- three programmable buttons
- infrared transmitter
- LED
- built-in Li-Pol 200 mAh / 3.7V battery
Devices created by M5Stack are also distinguished by a large number of expansion modules and their ease of use. All expansions can be connected using GPIO connectors (in this case, dedicated devices are called Stick Hat) or Grove connectors (using this connector we can connect both dedicated sensors and sensors from the Grove system). The USB C port is used to power and charge the device, the supply voltage is 5V, and the current efficiency is 500 mA.
Programming and working with the module
In addition to power, the USB C connector is also used for programming our small module. In this regard, we have a fairly wide choice, since the M5StickC device can be programmed in as many as 3 ways: using the UIFlow graphical environment, the Arduino IDE environment and the MicroPython language. For the module to work properly with a computer, you also need the CP210X controller, the installation of which is described in detail by the manufacturer, and the M5Burner or Easy Loader application, which allows you to load the software you are interested in.
