The BBC micro:bit 2 is a small module designed for learning to program. An earlier version of this popular tile was used in many schools around the world. The module is based on nRF52833 system with ARM Cortex M4 core. It has a built-in microphone, speaker, touch button, accelerometer, magnetometer, Bluetooth 5.0, 5x5 LED display and many more.

Micro:bit module in new version

The latest version of the micro:bit module includes components such as a MEMS microphone and speaker for creating interactive projects, a 5 x 5 LED matrix for light detection, two programmable buttons, a RESET button, a touch button (logo), a compass, an accelerometer and Bluetooth 5.0. In addition, the BBC micro:bit 2 comes with an LED to indicate power supply and microphone activity. The individual elements were labeled and described on the PCB. The board also has five banana cable terminals that allow you to connect an additional power supply and other peripherals such as servos or RGB LEDs.

BBC micro:bit 2 programming

The BBC micro:bit 2 board is designed for the smallest users. Micro:bit can be programmed in the web environment, in the micro:bit editor, or in the Mu editor. Then just connect the module via USB and load the created script. The device connected to the computer is displayed as a flash drive. Additional accessories and programs for the previous version of micro:bit are compatible with version 2. The board can also be programmed in many popular programming environments such as Windows, macOS, iOS, Android in the Microsoft Block Editor program running on JavaScript. The module can also be programmed wirelessly via Bluetooth.
