A small SHIM overlay for Raspberry Pi minicomputers made by Pimoroni company. The module acts as a 3 W mono amplifier. There is a terminal connector on the board to connect a speaker. The board is based on the MAX98357A chip, which is a combination of DAC and amplifier. The chip amplifies digital audio from the Raspberry Pi and transfers it to a connected speaker. Any speaker can be connected to the terminal connector. The SHIM overlay has a very small footprint, taking up no extra space, so you can create a small enclosure and use the kit as a small MP3 player or vintage-style radio.
